STOP HIDING YOUR HEART

Haven’t you hidden your heart away from me enough?

Behind your flawless facade of being bad and tough

I need you to stop holding yourself back from my love

To feel your skin relax in my palms, I know it's been tough

But all I want to do to your heart is to love it back to life

Close your eyes, hold my hand, take a deep breath and dive

Feel the rush from the delayed gratification and count to five

When your soul is calm, you will see that I’m here to revive

You like the dark but I see the sparks when we’re alone at night

I want to hold your hands and take you one step into your light

It feels wrong that you are blind to everything in you that is right

I could say them to you but my words only come alive when I write

So, I hope you read this and trust in the things I observe

They say I’m drawn to hearts I’m not allowed to have

That I run myself through straight lines and down the curve

But I disagree, everyone else is hiding, I only have the nerve

To seek, find and own what I deserve without excuses

To want to make you smile in between bad movies

To tease your awkwardness in between public kisses

To sneak in naked into your arms in different cities

I have the nerve to leave some peace in your heart
